Alexander Albers is a research associate and doctoral student at the Chair of Production and Operations Management (POM) at ETH Zurich. Alexander holds a M.Sc. in Industrial Engineering and Management from Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), where he graduated with distinction with a focus on manufacturing, machine learning, as well as strategy and management. He wrote his Master’s thesis at the Institute of Manufacturing of Cambridge University on the use of Augmented Reality technologies for manual quality inspection.
In addition to internships at Mercedes-Benz and Porsche Consulting, Alexander worked as a student assistant on various research projects at KIT and Cambridge University. There, he contributed to several scientific papers published in venues such as the CIRP Conference on Manufacturing Systems and IEEE IVS.

In his spare time, Alexander maintains an App for public transport navigation, integrating over 50 transport networks from Germany, Austria and Switzerland. He has a passion for sports and enjoys going for runs or visiting the Boulder gym. He also loves exploring Switzerland on his road bike or by foot on one of the many hiking trails.
